Our Village Pathway Programs are designed to provide opportunities for those who feel that they could benefit from gaining more experience in a school setting before (or while) they apply for an alternative or traditional pathway.
If you are not yet eligible for traditional or alternative certification programs or would like to try out teaching before becoming certified, our Village Pathway Programs may be a good fit.
In addition to hiring certified teachers, Pre-K programs have opportunities for those with a high school equivalency and above.
In collaboration with the Department of Education’s Paraprofessional Office, NYC Men Teach has created a Paraprofessional-to-Teacher Program, providing opportunities for aspiring teachers to work full time as paraprofessionals, participate in monthly teacher training, and receive individualized support participants in choosing the best pathway to teaching. Participants can have a high school equivalency and above.
NYC Men Teach has partnered with ExpandED after school programs schools to provide part-time afterschool teaching opportunities for those who may be interested in teaching but want to have more experience working with students. This is the perfect opportunity for college students or those who have full time jobs but want to gain more experience before making a full time teaching commitment.

NYC Men Teach looks forward to forming new partnerships with companies and community based organizations that provide direct support to students as we work to provide additional employment opportunities for men of color to be able to work with students in NYC even before they become full time teachers. If you or someone you know would like to discuss a partnership, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
